Simon Wood (Honours in Media and Communication) is an RMIT student whose specialist discipline is in the ‘contemporary music industry’.

For his honours study in 2013, Simon will be researching the ‘full length album’ in it’s many forms (Vinyl, Tapes, CD, Downloads).

By researching the development of the ‘full length album’ over the past 30-40 years, exploring the idea of ‘concept albums’, as well as the music and career of Prince and the cult-like following of his fans as case studies – Simon hopes to generate some suggestions as to whether the ‘full length album’ will continue to perpetuate itself into the future, or reach the potential demise that many theorists have speculated in recent years.
